Laziness is the Devil: How Indolence Feeds Evil
Laziness may not be evil, but it breeds it all the same. See how the two are part of a vicious cycle borne of our negligence.
There's a special place in hell—an extra circle of hell if you believe Dante's Inferno—for the lazy and complacent. Ignorance isn't bliss; it's evil in crude form. Jesus referred to the "lazy and wicked” in The Parable of the Talents because he realized the dangers of laziness before everyone else.
After Eurydice Hazzard embraced her calling as the Women in the Woods and the Reaper, the first thing she did was explain how laziness facilitates evil.
Laziness at its Most Basic
When you imagine a lazy person, you probably see someone lounging on a couch, nursing a beer, and not doing anything. You don’t see them speaking the Gospel and actively seeking out others, loving them, and receiving love in kind.
When Jesus asked us to spread the Gospel, He used the verb “go,” but that’s the last thing lazy people will do. They won’t lift a finger to help others, let alone make an effort to spread His message.
The only reason that people have lost the fear of God, their ending, and the afterlife is that their predecessors stopped spreading the Lord’s message. Thus, today people might not be lazy per se, but they are lazy in all the ways that make laziness a sin.
Laziness from Eurydice Hazzard’s Perspective
Eurydice Hazzard goes into great detail about the “look the other way” attitude” in a recently published Facebook post. According to her, negligence and complacency are just two sides of the coin that we all know as laziness. Hazzard believes that our idleness makes culprits who victimize others and vice versa. In a way, these culprits are the victims of our laziness.
Nowadays, the most famous product of the world's passivity is Nikolas Cruz, who killed and injured 34 students and teachers from his middle school. No one is born evil, and Cruz was no exception. However, you’ll see several instances of “look the other way” during his upbringing. You’ll see this in how he was born, given away for adoption, and raised. You’ll see people looking the other way until he started shooting practice right before the mass shooting.
